What is Direct Debit Billing?

Direct Debit is a method that allows users to bill directly from their bank account and is now considered the most widely used form of payment other than cash for most European countries. Most of the Europeans pay their daily bills via Direct Debit. Credit Cards are generally very difficult and almost impossible to get in many countries. So Direct Debit is used to cover almost all of the basic necessity bills like rent, electricity and internet service as well as other purchases.

How does it works?

Global Accés works by acting as a bridge from the Customer --> Merchant --> Global Accés --> Euro Bank. It is very similar to ACH (online check) billing in the USA. When a Surfer makes a purchase, Global Accés verifies the account and then withdraws the money directly from the user’s bank account to immediately complete the transaction. The customer’s privacy is protected since the charge will only say P2E and then the transaction number, no mention of the website is ever listed.

Why offer Direct Debit?

Most Europeans are accustomed to this form of billing and are comfortable with having their bank account accessed for purchases; including recurring charges. More Europeans don't even have access to credit cards, and if it is something that is available to them it is usually a difficult process to obtain one. There are no penalties for chargebacks with Direct Debit, unlike credit card transactions and you will increase the number of re-bills by offering it. In some countries, your sales will triple just by offering EUDebit.
